The Future is Nasty
'We are inaudible until we can make ourselves heard. We are invisible until the light reflects our image.'
Initiated in the fall of 2016 by a group of female creatives who are hungry for change, The Future is Nasty is a photography and interview project produced by Heloise, Mari and Shelby Comstock Britten. Photographed by Khadija Bhuiyan and designed by Métushalème Dary and Casey Wilson, this collection contains portraits captured a few months after the 2016 presidential election. Asking women of different backgrounds, ethnicities and ages about the source of their strength and power allowed for a conversation that truly revolves around the subjects and what makes them feel powerful. Special thanks goes out to TheaterLab NYC for donating space for the shoot.
The book is now available online for donation of only 5.00 USD, all profits will be donated directly to Planned Parenthood.
